HISTORY OF THE BODY PILLOW
The Body Pillow is not a new idea. The concept of the modern Body Pillow originated in the Far East and was originally called a "bamboo wife". Also known as a Bolster Pillow, the ancient body pillow was made out of bamboo, by a wife, to comfort her husband in his travels. These body pillows are still popular in the Far East, and are so common they are often seen in hotels. Body pillows are reguarly used by small children for sleeping, and this habit carries over into adulthood. The body pillow is preferable over sheets in these climates due to the heat and humidity.
USES FOR MODERN BODY PILLOWS
Body Pillows are great to use when sleeping or napping. But the comforts of body pillows don't stop there! Body pillows can be used on your bed to add volume and prop up your stuffed bed pillow shams or other decorative pillows. Consider using your body pillows on the floor in front of the TV, using them to double as TV Pillows. Your body pillows can also be used as a decorative pillow on a long bench at the foot of your bed or in a hallway. Use your imagination and use your body pillows in creative ways in your home!
